I can’t say “Good Morning”………..
because it is almost bedtime…..and that would be confusing. I am scurrying to get this post out so you can start planning your packing list. That’s right!!!!! It’s time to for another Sewingjourney!!! I made reservations and we leave in a week. It will be a lot more fun if the location is a surprise so I am only going to give you a couple of broad hints. First, we will be in the state of Oregon. Second, you will need to bring a set of clothes that can get a little bit grimy. And third, we can’t take the Blog Dogs with us. I know that is a huge disappointment. However, someone EVEN BETTER is going with us!! Do you know who? My Sewing Sister!!
That’s right, my Sewing Sister is going on our Sewingjourney. Isn’t that wonderful!! I knew you would be thrilled. Just think, you will have the chance to get to know and love her just like I do. It is so exciting that we get to come together. We are like our own little blog family, aren’t we?
Okay, that is all I am going to tell you. There are only a couple of people who could possibly figure this out (I’m talking about you Holly and Bev P!!). As for everyone else, I am don’t think you will guess the spot in a million years. I CAN’T WAIT!!

A remake you will either love or hate…..
It is all the red scarf’s fault. I had a perfectly good inspirational flannel shirt going on when she said, “Make it a dress!!! Use me as the bottom and make a dress!” Well, I must be a sucker for a sweet-talking scarf because that is what I did. And it took me all day. First, I got caught up in obsessive details that only mattered to me. For example, did I really need a velvet heart WITH a red heart AND a jeans heart all stacked on top of each other? I guess I did. And was it imperative that I make fringe so there would be enough to go around the cuffs? I guess it was because fringe is what I made.
Making fringe is easy and soothing. You just pull the cross-wise threads out one at a time. Start at the bottom and work up one thread at a time. Welcome to Dunkin’s Atelier!
Second, I had things that I actually needed to do today. Like help my friend Carol transform my side yard into something beautiful, and make dinner because my son was coming over tonight. Grown-up things, not playing with fringe and hearts and scarves things. (Oh!!, I need to make a right turn for just a second. For dinner I made a pot roast recipe from Diane’s blog and it was amazing!! It was super easy and cooked in the crock pot all day so I could keep making fringe: I’m not an expert on including links but I think this will get you there…….https://indianeskitchen.com/2020/02/03/three-ingredients-slow-cooker-roast/,
Where was I? Oh yes, I was talking about my remake. Here’s the truth. I want to explain everything in case you don’t like it. I’m not even sure how much I like it yet. Instead or rambling further, how about I just show you the pictures and let you make up your own mind. Ready?
Here’s what I did. I started with a flannel shirt. I added the heart and quote last week. Today I added the bottom, the cuffs and the extra hearts. Part of the scarf was fringed and the rest I made myself. I even cut the red hears from the fringed fabric so that fringe would hang from the bottom. At the end I ran to Joann’s and got some pom poms because I wanted to do something to break up the red line at the bottom.
What do you think? Love it? Hate it? Am I finished? Does it need something else or does it already look like lipstick on a pig?? I am so not sure. I do I love how it feels. The flannel is soft. The red fabric is soft and the fringe is soft and swishy at the bottom and around the wrists. Singularly, all the details make me happy. But I am not completely sure about how it fits together. There is something about the red on the bottom. It is so RED. I am going to my sewing sister’s tomorrow so I will ask her opinion. If I make any changes I will let you know.
No matter what, it was a good day. I got to spend my time doing what I love. I got to be with people that I love. And I get to end it with you. There’s nothing better. Have a great week and I will talk to you soon.
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.“
The book of Jeremiah 29:11
(There is something about this quote that speaks to me this Spring…….Maybe it is because Spring is such a visual representation of hope.)
That is amazing, you are so talented. Thank you for the shout out too!!!❤

How about wearing black stretch pants under the dress/long shirt. That would make it stand out.
