Good Morning!

I had the feeling you were missing me so I thought I would write a quick post. How is everyone? I am sending you love and encouragement over the miles. My Sewing Sister said something profound today; “God either is, or He isn’t”. I love that. If I believe that God is who He says He is, then I don’t have to be afraid. I can be careful; wise; and cooperate with the instructions from our Public Health experts. I can look out for my family and others. However, I don’t have to be afraid.
Fear is a waste of time and energy. It doesn’t fix anything; prevent anything or make life any better. In recovery circles they call fear: False Evidence Appearing Real. Google told me that the Bible tells us not to fear 365 times. My bible has 1167 pages so what is that?…..About every 3rd page??? I hate what fear does to me anyway, so what will I do instead??????
Make a new message…..

So, while I am staying at home and practicing social distancing, I decided to make myself a “Fear Not” inspired wardrobe. Here is why: A) The brain can only concentrate on 1 thing at a time. B) How I spend my time is what I fill my brain with. C) I get to choose.
Here is what I have done so far. What do you think?
I am telling you, making these things has been AWESOME!! First off, it has been really soothing. I go to my closet; pick out something I want to “encourage up”; look at my fabric scraps and think about a design. We all know that sewing is good for our brains. It seems to me that doing an activity that is brain-healthy while focusing on a topic that is brain-encouraging is ………well……..a no-brainer. Also, it has been a great way to send a positive message. I posted this clothes on my Facebook page and it was so encouraging and fun to see everyone’s reactions. It made me feel good.
My goal is to work on a “Fear Not” themed garment each day. I will keep you posted on the progress. If you have any ideas for messages I can put on clothing post them under comments. I would love to hear your ideas!
Spread Courage and Hope
I also, want to encourage you to spread the message of “Fear Not”. If you want to do your own inspirational sewing just follow the directions I shared in earlier posts. I think “Week 3: Changing the World One Marking Pen at a Time” gives pretty decent instructions. It is pretty much, “cut stuff up; sew stuff on”. If you do something else, put it in the comments section and inspire us! Take care everyone, I love you and will talk to you soon.
The Serenity Prayer:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isiah 40:31
This is a time none of have experienced in our lifetime. But my hope is in God.
Thanks for your creativity and encouragement Kristi.

Since I don’t sew…I have ordered 12 yards of bark mulch. Picture the grandkids and I outdoors….enjoying the spring, messing around in the yard, and staying home.
